At PMMRAC, we believe that caring for Country begins with conscious, everyday actions. World Environment Day is more than a date on the calendar. It is a reminder that our health on the planet is a shared responsibility.

Today, we reflect on the steps we can take individually and collectively to protect and preserve our environment and work together towards a more sustainable future.

Waste Management

  • - Small battery recycling
  • - Large batteries are recycled in Hedland – collected on pallets
  • - Containers for change
  • - Toner cartridge recycling
  • - E-waste recycling
  • - Metal recycling in Hedland
  • - Cardboard recycling in Hedland
  • - Separation of general waste and recyclable materials

Reduction in energy consumption

  • - Solar in Hedland
  • - New energy efficient LED lights in Burswood
  • - New LED bulbs have been put in the offices in Hedland and in the Warehouse
  • - Use of sensor lights
  • - Installation of energy efficient air conditioning

Protection of water tables and the land

  • - Bunding of chemicals and use chemical storage cabinets
  • - Disposal of asbestos waste at specialised facilities
  • - Biodegradable detergent for vehicle washing in Hedland
